Engineering Manager

What's the role?

As an Engineering Manager of the Field Engineering team in the steel construction trade, your primary objective is to lead the team in driving the adoption of Hilti’s technical solutions (including Tech Services and Software) among our focus customers. Additionally, you will aim to cultivate a robust specification pipeline and maximize our engineering business share of wallet through strategic and effective customer development activities.

What does the role involve?


  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop Field engineering team to maximize Division /MO market reach productivity.
  • Lead all specifiable sales business development and specifications activities within the division focusing on top selected joint customers and projects.
  • Lead the team in maximizing the flow of healthy pipeline of new leads and opportunities for specifiable/Technical business sustainability.
  • Direct ownership for the Top 10-15 Accounts in the division. Maintaining a sustainable relationship with key contacts and decision makers, aiming to develop the accounts to the desired engagement and business growth sustainability levels.
  • Develop a divisional account game plan for top Key accounts to ensure sustainable value creation and high level of technical application adoption focusing on maximizing specifiable sales penetration (SOW%).
  • Utilized CRM tools, data management, quality leads and opportunities to define with the team winning business opportunities for building and maintaining strong long-term relationship with key Accounts’ stakeholders.
  • Closely monitor competitors' activities within the division, capture our key specifier needs and ensure regular reporting to technical marketing and PLS to strengthen and enhance our solution offering relevant to our specifiers and customer needs while gaining a competitive advantage over our competitors.
  • Ensure effective project management in place for defined key projects, focusing on adoption / winning rate for BIM projects, focus specifiable application adoption rate to maximize project specifiable business SOW %
  • Manage Opex effectively within the Engineering Division aligned with specifiable business growth targets and effectively steer the division business toward productive growth plans.

What you need is:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • While an MBA qualification is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
  • Demonstrable managerial-level technical engineering expertise.
  • Prior involvement in sales or business development roles.
  • Preferred familiarity and experience within the construction sector.
  • Proven track record in people leadership and management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in delivering compelling presentations.
  • Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and contributing to significant business decisions.
