COMPLEX CHALLENGES. SMARTER SOLUTIONS

The Design Engineer is a senior engineering role responsible for delivering highly complex, customer-focused engineering solutions that support the growth of Hilti’s portfolio. Operating at an advanced technical level, you translate intricate project requirements into optimized, reliable, and compliant design solutions across international and multidisciplinary environments. In this role, you take ownership of complex design applications, perform advanced structural calculations, and act as a key technical reference within project teams. Additionally, you play an important role in coaching and developing other engineers while strengthening collaboration across regions and functions. This full-time position is available immediately and includes international collaboration.

What You'll do

  • Assess project scope, required inputs, and engineering effort in alignment with Engineering / Project Managers and Lead Engineers.
  • Develop the technical “design core” for MEP fastening solutions and provide structured input to internal and external modelers.
  • Execute and optimize engineering designs for MEP applications using Hilti systems, ensuring compliant calculations, documentation, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate in project meetings, identify scope deviations, and support change management while ensuring alignment with stakeholders and standards.
  • Derive Bills of Materials and communicate solutions to cross-functional teams (e.g. supply chain, sales, field engineering) to enable efficient project execution.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering, with strong technical and modelling skills.
  • Several years of experience delivering engineering work on complex projects, ideally in a multidisciplinary or construction related environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools, design software, and BIM related workflows, with the ability to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to translate complex requirements into clear, optimized engineering solutions.
  • A structured, disciplined working style with strong time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to coach, support, and positively influence others.
  • High learning agility, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous professional development
