Business Developer - Industry

The Business Developer – Industry is responsible for strategically developing Hilti’s presence and long-term partnerships with Malaysia’s largest General Contractors, Developers, EPCs, and Industrial Construction Players.

This role focuses on driving sustainable business growth by engaging senior stakeholders within key accounts such as major contractors, developers, and industrial project owners involved in Data Centers, Semiconductor, Manufacturing, and Large Infrastructure projects.

The Business Developer acts as a trusted advisor to customers by identifying market opportunities, influencing specifications early, and positioning Hilti as a strategic solution partner across the full project lifecycle.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, senior stakeholder engagement, market intelligence capabilities, and the ability to orchestrate complex system-selling opportunities involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll do

Drive long-term strategic engagement with key Industrial and Construction accounts in Malaysia.

Develop and execute account strategies to increase Hilti’s market share within major projects and strategic contractors.

Influence project specifications and technical decisions early in the project lifecycle.

Create and develop a sustainable pipeline of short-, medium-, and long-term opportunities across Industry segments.

Act as the voice of the market internally by providing insights on customer needs, competitor activities, and market trends.

Position Hilti as a strategic partner by promoting value-based and system-selling approaches rather than transactional product sales.

Identify customer pain points and translate them into tailored technical and commercial solutions.

Drive specification influence and early engagement activities to secure long-term project opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical or Civil Engineering, MBA or post-graduate degree is a plus

Strong experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Large Projects, or Industrial Construction.

Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Strong understanding of the Malaysian construction and industrial market landscape.

Experience working with major contractors, developers, EPCs, or industrial clients is highly preferred.

Strong commercial mindset combined with technical understanding.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage complexity across multiple projects, customers, and internal functions.

Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related business tools.
