What's the role?
The role of Training and Refurbishment Coordinator, is to develop and facilitate learning and training activities for the Hilti Apprentice Program (HAP) that will be practiced through the refurbishment of tools being repurposed for donation to charitable organizations. This position includes, but is not limited to, training, coaching, performance feedback, coordinating the successful operation of the tool refurbishment program, and coordination with trainers and mentors in adjacent departments at the Hilti Irving facility in regards to the HAP program.

What does the role involve?
- Facilitate orientation, training, coaching, and development of all new apprentices during training:
- Approximately twelve (12) new apprentices per year on overlapping training cycles
- Approximately three (3) candidates active in the program at any given time
- Design and develop training modules and delivery outline for refurbishment operations training (tool test and refurbishment, inventory management, receiving and shipping, service administration) and coordinate for structured/assessable on-the-job (OTJ) training in adjacent operations
- Design, develop, and administer apprentice assessment procedures to fairly evaluate and communicate development results to the candidates, management, and the partner organization (i.e. Habitat)
- Develop and manage training schedule and rotations
- Supervise the efficient and effective operation of the Tool Refurbishment program; properly maintain assigned workspace
- Develop and maintain record management systems using available resources (i.e.: MS Office) to provide accounting and visibility to status and disposition of tools processed through the Tool Refurbishment program
- Purchase, maintain, and manage the use of the materials and supplies budgeted, approved, and required for the Tool Refurbishment program
- Perform hands-on Tool Refurbishment duties, as required, to supplement the capacity of the assigned apprentices to achieve the targeted program volumes
- Coordinate with the Fleet Management Team, Tool Recycling Partner, and the regional Environmental and Safety Manager, as required, to facilitate refurbishment operations and compliance with all required policies
- Partner with Manager, Social Impact, Education & Workforce to select candidates for apprenticeship program
- Collaborate with Manager, Social Impact, Education and Workforce to create apprenticeship program calendar and plan and execute apprentice experience
- Maximize operational efficiency to deliver and keep up with NGO demand for tools
- Trusted partner with customers, Social Impact team, internal and external volunteers and NGOs
- Maintain detailed records on apprentice performance, tool donations, order processing, etc.
- Coordinate training rotations and evaluations of apprentices with Distribution Center

What you need is:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Strong functional expertise in:
- Minimum two (2) years’ Mechanical or Technical Trade (Repair, service, maintenance, etc.)
- Minimum one (1) year Service and Inventory Management
- Demonstrable competence in Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior experience training or coaching others in the performance of a related industrial duty, required
- Demonstrated communication (interpersonal, oral, written) skills, required; comfort in presenting and facilitating workshops in a training environment as well as provide on-going feedback to participants and managers regarding the performance of the participants
- Demonstrated ability to work independently by self-managing time, organize activities, and effectively use available resources to achieve operational results.
- Ability to give constant and consistent face to face updates to trainees as to the success and/or gaps in their performance during each phase of the apprentice training process
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or operations environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working with various levels of leadership from executive level to entry level
- Strong people-oriented leadership style.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic work environments and manage shifting priorities.
- Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- Collaborative mindset with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related field (strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Previous experience collaborating with global teams.
- Previous experience working with complex processes and programs.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
