What's the role?
Responsible for all legal and compliance topics (except intellectual properties) of Hilti Japan and work closely with regional legal and compliance team to align with Hilti Group requirements.

What does the role involve?
General Legal Support: Provide legal advice and support in Japan, in line with Hilti Group requirements, including:
- Commercial and corporate legal matters such as review, negotiation and approval of customer contracts and other commercial contracts (including project-related contracts), agreement with business partners and distributors/resellers, review of marketing materials and technical statements.
- Compliance: Be the local compliance officer of Hilti Japan and be responsible for policy roll-out, monitoring/approval and compliance case handling, in collaboration with Regional Compliance Officer, North Asia.
- Litigation Support: Advice and manage any potential claims, and any litigations of Hilti Japan, in collaboration with external law firm as necessary.
- Corporate Housekeeping / Legal Training: Support corporate housekeeping of Hilti Japan together with external law firms.
- Engagement of External Counsel: Select and manage outside counsel as required.
- Co-ordination / Liaison: Interface with Headquarters and Regional Legal & Compliance Teams.
- Support rollout of global contract policies/concepts/templates (sales, service, software and engineering) and localization of contracts according to local law requirements.
- Perform all other legal and compliance works as required together with the North Asia Legal & Compliance team.

What you need is:
- Qualified lawyer in Japan/US with at least 10 years of work experience in legal department of MNCs and/or reputable law firm (past experience in a related industry sector is advantageous).
- Excellent in spoken and written Japanese and English and strong communication skills and capable in communicate across different functions/departments.
- Curious about business and be prepared to take up the challenge of bringing positive impact in a business organization.
- Entrepreneurial and target-oriented way of thinking; team player with self-dependent working-style, takes a principal stand and does the right thing even if one encounters resistance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadline under pressure.
- Well-versed in IT software & technology like MS Office, etc.
