As an example, we do research on connecting structural timber members and structural concepts for timber buildings. Our expertise lies in analyzing and testing structural concepts, structural materials, and structural connections. We innovate based on understanding the full value chain and the application work-flow.

Tracefast – reliable identification of anchors
Traditionally, documentation meant a lot of paperwork: documenting every concrete anchor, screw and bolt as installed by hand. Using a unique ID printed on every fastener, helping verify design compliance is as quick as taking a photo with your smartphone. The unique ID on every fastener makes the fastener traceable back to its origin: it contains the item number, batch number and a serial number.

Timber connections
Timber buildings are the future of sustainable buildings, providing cost-efficient and comfortable housings based on a renewable material. Especially for mid- and high-rise buildings, we develop break-through innovation for structural timber connections, based on an in-depth understanding of the value chain, the application, and the customer workflow.

Qualifying anchors for alternative, more sustainable concrete
Sustainability is a key topic for the concrete industry, both in terms of reduced Global Warming Potential and in terms of circularity. Concrete made from recycled concrete aggregates – crushed concrete - instead of natural aggregates is gaining popularity. Secondly, new cements with significantly reduced CO2-emissions are developed to replace standard cement. We investigate how fastening solutions will perform in those materials, in order to consult our customers and further develop guidelines, codes, and approvals.
