Design Engineer - Firestop/Fire Prevention

Transform complex construction gaps into code-compliant, life-saving Engineering Judgments

  • Technical Engineer is the technical resource for the A2 Regional Engineering competence center responsible for actively supporting, driving and managing the different stages of projects and account development activities. Working in conjunction with Design Engineers, HILTI Market Organization`s or Project Management Office`s Lead Engineers, Project managers and Lead Modelers in various countries as the key technical driver.
  • Technical Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing or coordinating low or medium complex solutions and engineering services in mainly Industry [e.g. Vehicle, Machinery,
Electronics, Data Centers] or civil [ e.g. Railway, Metro etc] and building construction [ e.g. Offices, Hospitals, Residential Buildings etc.] related projects.

The ideal candidate will assist in developing safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant structural solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.

What You'll do

  • Maintain product and application knowledge for all Hilti Fire Protection solutions.
  • Assist in understanding and applying execution-related product lines in passive fire protection in engineering support tasks.
  • Preparation of engineering judgement documents, coordinate with Autocad Operators for autocad drawings for the prepared engineering judgements.
  • Participate in design reviews, inter-discipline coordination meetings, and constructability reviews.
  • Interpret and apply project specifications, client standards, and relevant codes during design.
  • Effectively communicates, understands and conveys customer and project requirements.
  • Present technical concepts clearly to multiple stakeholders, including Market Organization teams, consultants, and contractors
  • Follow A2 ECC workflows and guidelines. Help ensure designs are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure solution feasibility.
  • Maintain accurate Data Management System: Customer/Market Reach interactions, Design requests, Project-specific design records.
  • Maintain knowledge of energy, industry and building construction related codes / standards / guidelines.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Project & Engineering Support:
  • Assist in preparing engineering judgements, calculations, models, and drawings using:
  • Support compliance checks with relevant design codes, customer specifications, and internal standards
  • Participate in internal design reviews and incorporate feedback from Lead Engineers and Team Leader.

Teamwork & Communication:
  • Coordinate with local/global engineering teams to clarify technical requirements and receive guidance on complex issues.
  • Engage in basic technical discussions with sales, project engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders under supervision.
  • Document technical discussions and decisions for future reference and audit compliance.

Value Engineering & Pre-Sales Support:
  • Support Technical Engineers by collecting and organizing technical data for value engineering proposals, product comparisons, or cost-saving initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Fire Engineering from Tier 1 or Tier 2 institutions.
  • 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally with exposure to EPC or international projects.
  • Experience in design of Active/Passive fire protection is a plus.
  • Experience with National/ International Standards & Codes on fire protection like ASTME, UL, NFPA, FM, EN, IBC etc
  • Familiarity with CAD software (any of the following):
  • AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to learn project tools (e.g., SAP, ServiceNow, Click-up, Adobe, etc.).
