What's the role?

As a Regional Engineering Marketing Manager, this person will be critical in upholding the technical competence (e.g. Eurocode, ACI) on structural connections (e.g. Base plate, Rebar, Façade) to drive the specifier engagement and design the specifier content roadmap for the engineering community in our North Asia region (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea).

Working closely with Engineering, Product Managers, and Strategic Marketing, this person will be focusing on four main areas: spearheading the go-to-market approach for specifier engagement; defining marketing and communication plans; developing and delivering competence build-up; as well as setting targets and monitoring performance.

What does the role involve?

Define the go-to-market approach for specifier engagement

  • Define and lead the regional Engineering Marketing roadmap for structural connection in coordination with Business Units (BUs), North Asia regional headquarter (A1 Hub), and Market Organizations (MOs)
  • Collaborate with fellow A1, BU, MO Engagement Marketing Managers (Non-structural, Software) to align on overall Engagement Marketing roadmap for A1 (e.g. SPEC2site, Engineering trade waves, and digital campaign)
  • Technical competence on structural connections to lead Engineering Marketing storyline (e.g. Seismic, Fire) and support localization of Value Engineering examples and/or calculation reviews for new structural software solution (e.g. Profis Engineering)
  • Incorporate Engagement Marketing approach with Codes & Approvals colleagues in A1 Hub and MOs to translate and implement the latest design methods and regulations and test standards
  • Incorporate Engagement Marketing approach with software selling and Engineering Services adoption to present Hilti differentiated offering
Define marketing and communication plans
  • Work with relevant Engineering topic owners in in BU and/or Hub to conceptualize and develop the Engineering Marketing strategy, argue cards, content development, execution and steering plan of Engineering Marketing initiatives
  • Steer pre-launch preparation of Engineering Marketing flows with engineering trade managers in markets, support regional Engagement Marketing manager in preparing enablement packages for markets and engineering trade wave planning
  • Coordinate with digital counterparts on webinars & marketing strategy via multiple channels, publishing articles & white papers, and tracking of results
  • Collaborate with Global, BUs Engineering Marketing, and Digital Marketing on the content and structure of the editorial page for specifiers, draft & test editorial pages

Develop and deliver competence build-up

  • Lead Engineering colleagues in markets in defining MO Engineering Marketing roadmap, planning and executing Engineering trade waves, post-launch adoption and steering, preparing data and leveraging insights to resolve bottlenecks
  • Work with digital managers in the Hub to drive change management and adoption of leads (timely action, opportunity pipeline and conversion) to be cascaded with MO Field Engineering Managers/Field Engineers

Set targets and monitor performance
  • Define and conduct initiative tracking and generate insights for Hub leadership and leverage insights and feedback to drive future actions with MOs
  • Align Engagement Marketing topics in Regional and MO Engineering Trade and/or TMP Review & improve process for sustainable adoption

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/building services/civil engineering/architecture or related discipline, with master’s degree in business/marketing/engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in construction industry, either in design offices / construction sites or sales and marketing experience in technical field
  • Highly competent in connecting and influencing stakeholders at all levels and collaborate with them to work together towards the same goal and direction
  • Strong affiliation with both Engineering and Strategic Marketing and understand the Hilti way of working in Engineering team
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in MS Office and Hilti relevant systems (e.g. SAP, Salesforce); knowledge of BIM-related software is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and preferably one additional language (e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, or Korean)
  • Aspire to develop a long-term career with the company and open to relocate to other locations for future career advancement
