Engineering Service Center Supervisor

From planning to delivery, ensuring every modification meets the highest standards.

The Supervisor, Engineering Service Center (ESC) will oversee the daily execution of pre-fabrication workflow and operational activities by leading a team on the shop floor. This includes assigning work, coordinating labor coverage, sequencing and staging orders, monitoring schedule progress, and helping remove barriers that impact daily performance and efficiency. The role is responsible for reinforcing safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery expectations while collaborating with ESC leadership on team & resource coordination, performance follow-up, and continuous improvement efforts.

What You'll do

  • Lead the daily planning and coordination of prefabrication activities, including team assignments, assembly, staging, sequencing, workflow priorities, and daily execution within the pre-fab shop.
  • Monitor daily production schedule progress by tracking workflow, priorities, staffing needs, and customer requirements, escalating barriers as needed.
  • Assign daily shop-floor work based on production schedule and leadership direction, while coordinating labor coverage to support safe, efficient, and accurate completion of prefab orders.
  • Conduct team member performance and development discussions, provide coaching and feedback, and support follow-up on training, attendance, and daily performance expectations.
  • Coordinate daily with Distribution, Materials Management, Transport, ETO (Engineering to Order), Engineering, and other support teams to ensure completed prefab orders as ordered.
  • Ensure shop floor processes follow Internal Control System (ICS) requirements, standard work, compliance expectations, and documented operating procedures.
  • Lead & mentor shop-floor continuous improvement and LEAN activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure daily work is performed in alignment with Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) policies & guidelines by identifying hazards, reinforcing safe behaviors, and escalating risks or unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor housekeeping, 5S standards, equipment condition, tooling readiness, and material flow within the metal prefab shop; notifying the manager or support teams when repairs or adjustments are needed.
  • Perform routine checks of shop floor processes to confirm quality, service standards, productivity expectations, and safety requirements are being followed.
  • Manage shift coverage planning to support prefab operations across scheduled operating hours, including shift start-up, labor coverage, handoff communication, and end-of-shift alignment.
  • Lead facility security and employee safety practices by reinforcing access control, established security procedures, and proper handling of company materials, and customer orders.
  • Monitor and drive performance against established KPIs, implementing corrective actions and escalating risks when targets are not met.
  • Support productivity improvements by monitoring system usage, labor performance, material flow, rework, downtime, and cost-saving opportunities within daily operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension), and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and remain authorized for the duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related operations discipline, preferred.
  • Four (4) years of production, pre-fabrication, or comparable experience required.
  • Experience leading shop floor or manufacturing teams, preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement Process certification (LCS Level 1A) and A3 Problem Solver (LCS Level 1B) certification required or must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of placement in role.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and SAP, required.
  • Strong communication skills (oral/presentation & written), required.
  • Ability to adapt to business demands of complexity of multiple programs.
  • Skilled in simplifying & standardizing connection details.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
