Regional Compliance Officer, META

What's the Role?

Regional compliance management with focus on compliance risk such as anti-corruption, anti-trust, fraud prevention, anti-discrimination, conflict of interests, AML, export/sanctions compliance, data protection, human rights and product regulatory compliance in the META region. Apply best practices in the relevant markets and adhere to the companywide benchmark. Contribute and drive establishment of these standards in your area of responsibility and assure compliance within the network of organizations in the region.

What does the role involve?

Policy Development & Implementation:

  • Support Group Chief Compliance Office and Regional Management in the development and roll-out of compliance-related policies.
  • Coordinate implementation of compliance-related policies and other compliance management initiatives in the META region
  • Provide export and sanctions compliance counseling to local sales and logistics team, KYC and due diligence processes
  • Ensure a coordinated approach to enhancements of the Compliance Management System in the region
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor implementation of and adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Coordinate compliance reporting / monitor KPI`s on regional level and provide information to Group Chief Compliance Officer
  • Ensure use of provided tools for the Compliance Management System in region

Compliance Investigations:

  • Conduct internal investigations of suspected compliance violations using IT tools and standard techniques
  • Manage external consultants and law firms as required during the investigations and coordinate relevant internal stakeholders
Training Program:

  • Develop Compliance Training Program for the region aligned with the group strategy
  • Conduct training workshops with target audience on compliance policies and initiatives (including training the local compliance officers) and support training courses held by Group Chief Compliance Officer in region
  • Be the region-wide central point of contact for compliance querie s

Compliance Queries & Data Protection Inquiries:

  • Manage all compliance inquiries and incidents as central point of contact
  • Implement and ensure compliance with processes for all data-protection related inquiries/incident in cooperation with the local data protection officers.

What you need is

  • Fully qualified lawyer with 5 -10 years of compliance-related experience in the compliance organization of a multi-national enterprise. Solid experience in the areas of responsibility as mentioned above.
  • Prior experience with compliance investigations, audit / finance and/or law enforcement is an advantage
  • Proven track-record of providing high quality compliance advice in a very diverse business environment in the META region
  • Reference regional network to improve the compliance process further
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proactivity and self-motivation, ability to influence in a matrix environment
  • Fluency in English + one regional language (additional languages are beneficial)
  • IT-literacy (MS-Office + online platform for compliance management, forensic IT tools)
  • Relevant experience in related industry sector advantageous
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
