What's the role?

As Indirect Procurement Regional Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and guiding all indirect procurement activities through the development and implementation of initiatives within a portfolio of indirect categories, mainly focused on Marketing/Events.

You will run, develop or fine-tune a sourcing strategy for each category as appropriate, establish long-term agreements where feasible to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price, and other terms.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring supplier performance, driving cost efficiencies, and delivering best-in-class service to internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for new procurement projects from internal stakeholders starting from supplier scouting, perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks, tendering process, optimizing spend opportunities, negotiation and establishing & maintenance of supplier relationships.

In addition, you will be leading projects, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

What does the role involve?

As Indirect Procurement Regional Strategic Buyer your key responsibilities are:

  • Sound understanding of all elements and concepts of the procurement processes, following Indirect Procurement Guideline.
  • Develop and execute strategies for indirect procurement (sub-)categories with ability to trigger levers to sustainably create value.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier management to achieve cost savings, risk mitigation and sustainability goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international key suppliers, driving supplier performance and innovation through conducting regular business review meetings and supplier performance assessments, addressing performance issues and ensuring alignment with company values and goals.
  • Inspire and coach leaders in all functions to drive operational excellence & compliance to achieve the company’s strategy.
  • Drafting and configuration of the entire RFX process (RFI / RFP / RFQ) and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor procurement performance
  • Analyze the needs of the internal stakeholders to define the requirements of the product / service requested, and provide strategic advice & recommendations to your stakeholders.
You will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, aligning procurement initiatives with business needs and collaborating with various departments to identify improvement opportunities. You will inform management about spending, promote strategic sourcing, and optimize costs. Working with global and regional teams, you will implement projects while adopting an entrepreneurial mindset to enhance spending management. Additionally, you will ensure compliance, drive operational improvements, and develop digital sourcing models, collaborating with the Procurement Operations team to ensure execution and continuous improvement of sourcing strategies.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or engineering (master’s degree is a plus).
  • 3+ years of indirect procurement experience, ideally in a multinational organization, with proven skills in Marketing/Events category management.
  • Strategic mind-set with detailed-oriented and result orientation, with an innovative and proactive approach in problem solving.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management and supplier performance management skills.
  • Team player, excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Ability to structure clear deliverables and to simplify complex messages.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English.
  • SAP package knowledge highly appreciated.
