Head Of Engineering (PMO)

What's the Role?

This role involves leading and developing the PMO Engineering organization in Turkey, focusing on providing engineering and design services, particularly for modular support systems. The position is responsible for managing Engineering Managers and their teams, ensuring effective resource forecasting, planning, and staffing for both short- and long-term projects.
The core responsibilities:
Responsible for directly managing a team of Engineering Managers, defining required resources and competences, and organizing teams based on projects’ needs and expected achievements.
Work directly with PMO Head to provide and align on strategic direction of the Project Management Office, with specific focus on engineering systems and services and related investment needs.
Partner with PMO Head to develop team strategy and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for team members and projects with specific focus on engineering competences and services.
Define and implement scalable processes, with specific focus on resource allocation, monitoring and control on effort, timeline, scope of engineering services for projects.
Drive key activities to ensure consistent service levels offered by the PMO related to application consulting & engineering for relevant customers & related projects in defined application fields.
Coordinate projects’ engineering progress updates and define related processes, from opening till closure.
Establish and ensure implementation of a quality control system for designs and solutions provided by the team.
Support and guide the markets about the best value proposition, services and technical solutions to maximize our differentiation and customer engagement.
Partner with Project Managers, Business Developers and customers in all topics related to engineering system and service solutions.
Mitigate and notice, once applicable, any technical, commercial, or even logistic issue, customer requirements or considerations which can imply imminent risks to the organization or the project.
Partner with the Bid&Contract manager to develop reliable processes and competences on technical proposals, submittals and support the project team in addressing technical requirements in bidding stage.
Partner with Project Managers in preparation and presentation of project and segmented reports, post-mortem project reports, best practices project manuals focusing on engineering services and technical topics.
Promote process improvements and competence development after assessing business opportunities and customer needs.

What does the role involve?

The purpose of the role is to act as Head of Engineering for the Region and drive engineering strategy in the Regional Hub. Provides engineering roadmap and ensures implementation of global engineering standards in cooperation with the Market Organizations (MOs) in the Region.

Our iconic red Hilti toolbox currently contains more than 30% recycled materials and we are actively working to increase this to 50% within the next twelve months.

What you need is

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience of team management.
  • Solid Project Management understanding.
  • Full domain on MS software (Excel, Power BI, MSProject, Word, Power Point).Basics Autodesk software skills (AutoCAD, Revit is a plus). General Plant Design and BIM knowhow (SP3D, E3D and Revit) .
  • Min. 6 years of experience in engineering design or quality management. Min. 3 years of experience leading a team as a coordinator or project manager are a must.
  • Understanding the correlation between technical and commercial aspects of engineering work and create balance, efficiency and clear collaboration across technical, commercial and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven effectiveness working in cross-functional environments as well as at all organization level (from front line to executive level)
  • Fluent in English, all other languages are a plus
