Red Team Specialist

Secure by Design. Reliable by Default.

This role serves as a technical Subject Matter Expert for Red Teaming and adversary emulation within Hilti's Offensive Security team. Its primary focus is the design and execution of realistic, threat-informed offensive security operations across identity, endpoint, cloud, application, SaaS, OT/manufacturing and hybrid infrastructure environments.

The role combines deep hands-on Red Team expertise with ownership of the supporting infrastructure, tooling, automation, operational security and tradecraft required to safely conduct offensive operations at enterprise scale. The position does not include formal people leadership responsibilities, but is expected to provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship within the Offensive Security team and to relevant stakeholders. Working closely with the Blue Team, SOC, detection engineering and relevant technology teams, the role translates offensive operations into measurable improvements in prevention, detection and response.

This is a full-time position, based in Buchs, Switzerland and is available as of January 2027. The position does not require travel on a regular basis.

What You'll do

  • Act as the primary Red Team subject matter expert for adversary emulation techniques, Red Team infrastructure, offensive tradecraft and operational security practices in the context of offensive security.
  • Plan and execute Red Team, Purple Team and adversary emulation exercises based on realistic threat actors, attack paths and business priorities.
  • Design, operate and continuously improve Red Team infrastructure, tooling, automation and operational security controls.
  • Leverage threat intelligence and emerging attacker techniques to develop realistic testing scenarios and attack campaigns.
  • Validate prevention, detection and response capabilities and work with the SOC and detection engineering teams to improve defensive effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation in Offensive Security by identifying, testing and operationalizing AI capabilities that improve the scale, speed and effectiveness of Red Team activities.
  • Define and maintain operational standards, rules of engagement and safety mechanisms for offensive security activities.
  • Provide technical mentoring, knowledge sharing and guidance to Offensive Security colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Support awareness and capability-building activities through workshops, live demonstrations and collaborative security exercises.
