What does the role involve?

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing material group purchasing strategies, utilizing cutting-edge strategic instruments such as scenario planning, game theory-based auctions, advanced negotiations, and design to cost methodologies to achieve targets. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including business units, cross-functional teams, regional organizations, and plants, to align and implement purchasing strategies effectively. As an internal consultant to the management team, you will play a vital role in optimizing holistic supply chain challenges and developing innovative solutions for complex strategic projects. Your expertise in analyzing industry trends and emerging technologies will enable you to proactively identify supply base issues, mitigate risks, ensure continuity of supply, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing tasks of projects, including new product development and technical projects, to support the business unit roadmap.

What you need is:

  • A master’s degree in engineering or business administration
  • Proven experience in purchasing or project management expertise in complex strategic sourcing projects with global cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in negotiation skills including researching and anticipating shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think conceptually
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus
