What's the role?

The BD (Business Development) is leadership role part of the global Hilti SBD community. As an SBD you will be focusing on a portfolio of Global Engineering and Construction Accounts (EPCs or Owners) important for the HILTI business. You will create a strategy and lead its execution to increase sales from the accounts based on commercial relationship and also help driving technical specifications. You will also coordinate a worldwide team associated with these Account(s).

What does the role involve?

  • Contributes and accountable for specification and sales development (direct or indirect), long term relationship build-up, and execution of account strategy by working on tailored commercial and technical solutions.
  • In charge of developing senior relationship contacts within the customer’s organization to drive the execution of the account’s strategy. (Department heads, corporate)
  • Drives specifications by supporting the HILTI technical teams working with the assigned accounts including designers, engineers, project team members, purchase dep., lead engineers, discipline managers, turnaround teams across multiple disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping & Procurement).
  • Focus primarily on customer projects outside of the hosting country.
  • Examines economic and market trends and conditions that effect the company, and develop strategies to take full advantage of any changing circumstances.
  • Maintains effective communication systems throughout the team and company.
  • Works with several offices/branches located in multiple regions

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for this particular job posting. Please be advised that a different location may result in a different range.

At Hilti, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $111,000 - $132,000 with bonus at target of $25,000.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent degree in mechanical or civil engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or sales for specified engineering products or sales of solutions, Marketing Management experience is a plus.
  • In addition, an experience with or within EPC, Engineering Consultant, Contractors and work on Energy Projects is required.
  • Demonstrated business administration experience forecasting, budget, planning etc.
  • Demonstrated work experience in international English-speaking environment

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in jobsite conditions, which may include working at high elevations. Up to 75% travel depending on the location of projects and offices.

Adverse Working Conditions:
  • Job requires walking on construction sites and uneven surfaces, as well as climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs during all seasons of the year
  • Depending on geography employees may be exposed to adverse heat or cold
  • Construction jobsites may also expose specialists to excessively loud noises; ear protection is strongly encouraged and may be required on some jobsites
Safety Equipment Required:
  • Hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and long pants required for working jobsites; must observe and abide by any and all safety regulations as required by Hilti, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and General Contractors
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to walk on construction projects, climb scaffolding, and lift and carry up to 65 pounds of Hilti product
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and comply with HNA Fleet Safety Policy requirements
