Global IT Business Analyst Project Management (Large Projects)

From Data to Decisions, Where Complexity Meets Clarity

At Hilti, we provide innovative and market-leading products, software and services to customers in the professional construction industry. Join our Global IT Large Projects team and help shape the digital future of Large Projects execution and project management at Hilti.

Working together with international colleagues, you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of a connected project management solution landscape. The role focuses on end-to-end business processes and the integration of relevant enterprise applications, rather than on a single tool or platform.

You will be based in our strategic IT office in Berkel, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, while working as part of an international team across the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United States and Switzerland.
This is a full-time position based in the Netherlands, ideally starting as soon as possible.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Required travel is up to 15%.

What You'll do

As the IT Business Analyst Project Management Solutions, you will play a key role in driving the digitalization and optimization of project management processes across Large Projects.
You will help build a connected solution landscape that brings together relevant project information from multiple business systems and provides project teams and management with a consistent end-to-end view of project execution. Operational planning and transactional execution will remain within their respective source systems.
Your role is to ensure that business processes, data and applications work seamlessly together, creating greater transparency across project structures, WBS elements, schedules, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, risks, issues and performance.

You will act as an active bridge between business and IT teams. Rather than simply collecting requirements, you will challenge process design, clarify ownership and dependencies, and translate business needs into clear process flows, functional requirements, user stories, business rules, acceptance criteria, integration requirements and user-friendly solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with LP Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance and other stakeholders to understand project management challenges, business requirements and improvement opportunities, while challenging process design and clarifying ownership and dependencies.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, process flows, solution designs, business rules, acceptance criteria and integration requirements, creating user-friendly solutions that connect business needs with IT.
  • Analyse project structures, identifiers, WBS elements, data relationships, system ownership and information flows across SFDC, SAP and other relevant Large Projects solutions, and define integrated views of schedules, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, risks, issues and performance without duplicating transactional ownership from source systems.
  • Drive end-to-end process integration by defining clear system-of-record, ownership and synchronization decisions, and collaborate closely with business process owners, Product Owners, Solution Architects, developers and external partners.
  • Define dashboard, KPI, alerting and reporting requirements together with business stakeholders and the responsible teams, and support backlog refinement, testing, user acceptance testing, release preparation, implementation, adoption and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

You don’t need to tick every box to make an impact in this role. What matters most is that you can connect business needs, processes, data and technology, and that you are comfortable working across different teams and disciplines. You bring a strong analytical mindset, curiosity and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working when there is a better solution.

What you need is:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, combined with a clear interest in and experience with IT and digital solutions.
  • Relevant experience in IT business analysis, enterprise application delivery, digital workflow solutions, project management solutions or engineering-related digital solutions, and the ability to quickly understand complex end-to-end business processes.
  • A strong understanding of project management concepts, including project structures, milestones, schedules, dependencies, risks, issues and execution monitoring, together with insight into data ownership, system-of-record decisions, integrations, mappings and downstream impacts of process or application changes.
  • The ability to turn complex business challenges into clear, practical solutions by translating them into functional requirements, user stories, process flows, business rules and acceptance criteria, while looking beyond requested features to understand the underlying business need.
  • A curious and improvement-driven mindset, with the willingness and proven ability to learn, the courage to challenge existing ways of working, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills across business functions and IT teams. Fluency in English is required.
