What You'll do

What does the role involve?

• BIM Lead Modeler is responsible for delivering charged BIM Modeling and BIM Output Services within the scope of Integrated Project Solution along the project lifecycle from acquisition to execution.
• Coordinate and supervise internal and external modeling activities to ensure BIM objectives and deliverables are achieved within the approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Translate the Framework provided by the Construction Project Manager and the Design provided by the Lead Engineer into clear modeling work packages and actionable instructions for Modelers.
• Coordinate with the Project Team to resolve modeling, coordination, and BIM output issues and ensure consistent execution and documentation.

• Support the Construction Project Manager and Lead Engineer in assessing the quality, completeness, and availability of information in the models and project inputs provided by the customer.
• Support the Construction Project Manager in quoting and estimating BIM Modeling and BIM Output Services, including required effort, resources, and planning assumptions.
• Review the project Framework, modeling inputs, BIM requirements, and delivery expectations, and identify potential modeling, coordination, or interoperability risks at an early stage.

• Based on the Framework provided by the Construction Project Manager and the Design provided by the Lead Engineer, coordinate BIM Modeling and BIM Output Services in collaboration with internal and External BIM Modelers by planning and splitting work packages efficiently.
• Set up and maintain the project model and collaboration environment to serve customer BIM requirements and relevant Hilti BIM use cases, including central files, linked models, worksets, levels and grids, parameters, title blocks, and project-specific standards.
• Schedule and lead modeling kick-off meetings with External BIM Modelers, ensure access to required project platforms, and clarify project requirements, modeling rules, workflows, responsibilities, and delivery expectations.
• Translate engineering inputs, ITMs, General Rules, and project requirements into clear and structured modeling instructions, and ensure consistent implementation across the modeling team.
• Assign and coordinate modeling tasks, monitor progress and productivity, and communicate resource needs, constraints, and delivery risks to the Construction Project Manager and Lead Engineer.
• Manage the required Revit families and modeling resources, including family selection, validation, and coordination of missing or compound family requests.
• Communicate to the Lead Engineer when specific applications exceed the technical design provided or when additional engineering clarification is required.

• Lead issue management activities and ensure modeling issues are properly assigned, monitored, resolved, documented, and escalated where required.
• Perform continuous QA/QC of BIM models and BIM outputs to ensure alignment with engineering inputs, project requirements, customer requirements, Hilti workflows, and applicable modeling standards.
• Use approved automation tools and scripts to improve modeling quality, data consistency, productivity, and repeatability.
• Review and coordinate BIM outputs, including shop drawings, plans, sections, schedules, bills of materials, IFC files, and other required deliverables, before formal review and submission.
• Collaborate with other Modelers in a common modeling environment and ensure appropriate coordination, model synchronization, linked-model updates, and federated-model preparation.
• Contribute to a professional and standardized portfolio of software, templates, families, and workflows supporting relevant modeling use cases.
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the workflow, including modeling records, issue tracking, QA/QC results, and delivery documentation.
• Professionally record and monitor the number of project hours spent by the BIM Lead Modeler and External BIM Modelers, and regularly share progress, resource utilization, and performance information with the respective Project Manager and Team Lead.

• Establish excellent working relationships with fellow members of the BIM Competence Center, Regional PMO, External BIM Modelers, and functional counterparts in Market Organizations and regions.
• Actively provide input and serve as a sparring partner for colleagues responsible for further developing BIM modeling services, workflows, software tools, automation solutions, and standards.
• Support onboarding, coaching, and knowledge sharing for Modelers, and promote consistent adoption of updated workflows, instructions, and quality practices.
• Share project lessons learned and practical feedback within the BIM community and contribute to scalable and sustainable BIM service delivery.

What You’ll Bring

What you need is:
General requirements:

• University Degree (Bachelor) in civil engineering / mechanical engineering / Process Equipment and control engineering or relevant.
• At least 5 years working experience with BIM MEP experiences in national or interna-tional industrial owners, EPCs or specifiers.
• Strong practical experience in project collaboration with different stakeholders. Experi-ence with BIM Cloud collaboration on Catenda or Autodesk Forma is preferred.
• Professional in Revit, Navisworks and Dynamo, with strong practical experience in Revit families.
• Knowhow in usage of Rebro or T-fas, with a clear understanding of project set-up.
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork and self-learning ability.
• Self-driven and disciplined approach to solving modeling and output problems.
• Strong capability to translate complex modeling requirements into clear, structured, and actionable deliverables.
• Solid commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of how individual contributions im-pact business outcomes, will be a plus.
• Native Japanese speaker. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
