Business Developer - Data Center

What's the role?

We are looking for a customer-focused Business Developer to be based either in São Paulo to develop their career in a rewarding, high-performing, and international team. The Business Developer (BD) role is a technical sales role where you will be focusing on the Data Center industry, a strategic and emerging segment for Hilti in the region.

As a BD, you will promote Hilti solutions among local and international Owners, EPCs, and Contractors, creating sustainable value for both our customers and Hilti. You will play a key role in establishing our presence in the Data Center segment, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and positioning Hilti as a trusted partner in this fast-growing industry.

You will create strategies and lead their execution towards sales with Data Center accounts, based on commercial relationships and technical specifications, through close cooperation with the global and regional BD community and support from our technical back office.

This role also involves analyzing economic and market trends that impact the Data Center industry and developing strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities. You will be expected to build senior-level relationships within customer organizations to drive the execution of account strategies and accelerate growth in this new segment.

What does the role involve?

As a Business Developer, you will be part of the Hilti Energy & Industry community and will work as a team with the local sales force associated with these Account(s). Your main responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Contributes and accountable for specification and sales development (direct or indirect), long term relationship build-up, and execution of account strategy by working on tailored commercial and technical solutions
  • In charge of developing senior relationship contacts within the customer’s organization to drive the execution of the account’s strategy. (Department heads, corporate)
  • Drives specifications by supporting the HILTI technical teams working with the assigned accounts including designers, engineers, project team members, purchase dep., lead engineers, discipline managers, turnaround teams across multiple disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping & Procurement)
  • Focus primarily on customer projects
  • Examines economic and market trends and conditions that effect the company and develop strategies to take full advantage of any changing circumstances
  • Maintains effective communication systems throughout the team and company
  • Works with several offices/branches located in multiple regions
  • Responsibilities includes some travelling

What you need is:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, or similar engineering
  • Knowledge in technical sales of engineering solutions and specifications
  • Mandatory advanced English
  • Previous technical commercial experience in the Data Center segment
  • Ability to negotiate at different hierarchical levels
  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Experience in nuclear energy is a plus
