Fire Testing Specialist

What's the role?

Are you passionate about fire safety and eager to make an impact? We're seeking a Fire Testing Specialist to work on the execution of our comprehensive fire testing program for Hilti’s Fire Protection portfolio to become a preferred firestop solution partner for our customers

In this role you'll obtain and analyse test and classification reports on the fire resistance performance of our products. You'll prepare detailed, customer-facing product documentation that highlights our commitment to safety and quality.

What does the role involve?

  • Implementation of fire testing roadmap, on time and on budget and ensuring compliance to relevant standards
  • Liaising with external contractors, vendors and suppliers to coordinate testing activities and to ensure availability of necessary equipment and procurement of materials
  • Attending the testing facility for test set-up and test execution, ensuring procedures are carried out accurately
  • Review and revision of test reports and classification reports
  • Consolidation of test and classification reports data into customer facing product documentation including product manuals, standard details and integration with Hilti’s Firestop Selector software
  • Continuous education on relevant test standards and classification regulations

Our Regional Head Office is based at Circle Square in Central Manchester, where we are located a short walk from Oxford Rd train station and St Peter's Square tram stop. We offer a hybrid working pattern between the office and home and different ways to work flexibly so please feel free to talk about what flexibility means to you at your interview.

What you need is:

  • University degree (Bachelor or Master) in engineering, chemistry or building construction
  • Strong technical expertise in fire protection systems
  • Product testing experience relevant to building products or fire testing
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations, classification rules and standards
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, with focus on practical solutions
  • Team player with very good communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Good technical English language skills to review and revise testing related documentation
  • Good AutoCAD skills (2D)
  • Willingness to travel to various international testing locations (approx. 30% travel time)
