Intern – Battery technology: Commercial Li-ion Cell testing and analysis (m/f/x)

What's the role?

Kickstart your career by helping us innovate power tools! We're seeking an intern who is eager to dive into lithium-ion battery technology, combining electrical and mechanical knowledge to develop cutting-edge battery packs. You will experience working at Hilti as part of our battery research team and supporting actively our research projects.

Start date is flexible and depends on your availability. Part-time (min. 25h per week) or full-time with a minimum of 6 months.

What does the role involve?

You’ll be part of our interdisciplinary battery team, working on the latest lithium-ion battery technology.
You'll work closely with our experts in battery research and development, gaining hands-on experience. Your role will involve investigating the newest commercial Li-ion pouch cells, improving our current testing methods, conducting advanced experimental tests, and analyzing and reporting your findings.

What you need is:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar during the entire internship period.
  • Prior experience in electrochemical characterization of batteries is beneficial.
  • Initial experience in data analysis, scripting and programming, particularly with MATLAB, is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for contributing to a dynamic and stimulating international team.
  • Troubleshooting skills and a self-reliant personality are highly valued.
