What's the role?
We are looking for a motivated, creative, and self-driven individual to support us in shaping the future of Hilti! Join our interdisciplinary and international Mechatronics development team in the Business Unit Measuring, to develop algorithmic solutions to support innovation for our products portfolio.
Start date is flexible to the student availability, preferably starting in February 2025 ; duration for at least 6 months.

What does the role involve?
The Business Unit Measuring portfolio includes Robotic Total Stations, Laser Distance Meters, Rotating and Line Lasers, and Concrete Scanners.
In this role, you will work closely with our R&D team to develop new algorithmic solutions to bring innovation to our products portfolio. Depending on your interests, you will focus on multi-view geometry, image processing, statistical state estimation, control, or simulations for localization and positioning applications.
During your internship, you will have the possibility to experience the complete innovation cycle: early - stage concept definition; prototype development; and validation and testing in real application scenarios.

What you need is:
- Enrollment in a Master's program in electronics, physics/mathematics, computer science, or similar for the entire internship period
- Familiarity with one or more of the following fields: control theory (Kalman filtering, Simulink), computer vision (photogrammetry), image processing, or statistics
- Good programming skills in a high-level language (Python, Matlab, or C#)
- Effective communication skills in English
- Proactive and self-reliant personality, with strong willingness to explore and learn new topics
