What's the role

The Business Developer is a technical sales role, forming part of the global Hilti Business Development community. You will create a strategy for selected segments and lead its execution to increase adoption of Hilti solutions but will support the whole industry business in Sweden. You will also coordinate with the local and global team associated with these account(s). As a Business Developer you will proactively develop business opportunities within the industry segment. Your main focus will be on Large accounts (Owners, EPCs, General Contractors, Consultants) operating in the segment. Your aim will be to maximise Hilti's sales potential with these customers by providing a high standard of technical service and engineering consultancy in the southern part of Sweden.

What does the role involve?

In the role you will be responsible and accountable for:

  • Development of defined accounts (Owners, EPCs, General Contractors, Consultants) operating in the defined segments through account standardization, project specification, sales development (direct or indirect) and multi-level relationship management.
  • Development of the strategy of the assigned accounts and specific segment game plans and leading its implementation.
  • Building and having ownership of a project pipeline identifying largest business opportunities for Hilti in these projects.
  • Work in close collaboration with sales teams in Sweden and jointly develop selected accounts and drive sales opportunities.
  • Bringing market intelligence inputs to the teams to confirm and/or update segment strategies.
  • Maintaining effective communication throughout the team and company and acts as owner of assigned accounts.
  • Responsibilities includes travelling abroad when needed, and in Sweden on regular basis. You will be responsible for customers in the southern part of Sweden.

What you need is:

  • Previous experience with working in the industry and ideally MSc/BSc degree in commercial, mechanical or civil engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and creation of trust through active listening, influencing with leadership and not authority.
  • Long-term strategic thinking with capability of explaining and transmitting the targets & strategy to customers, peers and management.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders around the strategy while understanding external stakeholders’ pain points and trends to adjust it if need be.
  • Ability to work self-driven and autonomously by creating own planning and tasks to reach the targets Ability to plan a week, a month, a year in accordance with the strategy.
  • Skill of identifying, understanding and delivery of sharp high-level system selling value proposition and ready to go into the details.
  • Business development/sales experience for engineered products or sales of technical solutions.
  • Networking skills (internal and external) with confidence while working within a matrix
