The Business Developer will drive strategic growth for Hilti’s Data Center business by managing key accounts, expanding solution adoption, and coordinating global and local teams in a fast-paced, high-performance international environment.
We’re looking for a Business Developer who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance, and international environment. In this role, you’ll be part of the E4 Large Capex Industry Team, a global community driving strategic growth in key industries.
As a Business Developer, you’ll manage a portfolio of key accounts—including Owners, EPCs, and specifiers—that are essential to the success of Hilti’s Data center business. You will define and execute strategies to expand the adoption of Hilti solutions across these stakeholders.
You’ll also play a pivotal role in coordinating projects within capture teams, working closely with both global Hilti functions and local teams across the SRA geographies to maximize impact and ensure alignment.
What You'll do
As a Business Developer in the Industry segment, your primary objective will be to strategically build and expand relationships with complex clients across the value chain in the SRA with focus on Greece and Croatia. Your focus will be to identify, engage, and support Key Players in the segment addressing their specific needs and challenges through the Systematic Account Development approach.
You will work with external stakeholders compounding segment expertise on Datacenter specific applications to increase the understanding of the segment dynamics, pipeline and engineering requirements.
You will work closely with the Sales Team, Regional and Global Segment Managers, BD Communities, Engineering, PMO and Fieldwire teams, all to drive profitable growth across the Datacenter Segment.
You will act as the primary expert for the Datacenter segment in SRA, leveraging your knowledge of market trends, applications, product offerings, competitive landscape, and Hilti’s value proposition. This role includes collaborating internally with the PMO to develop specifics for projects at a design phase collaborating closely with the CPMs. This role includes preparing and conducting training sessions for key stakeholders, both internal and external.
In addition, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing segment strategies, go-to-market plans, and brand awareness initiatives, working closely with Regional and Global Segment Managers.
- Accountable for the Development of Key Accounts: Oversee the development of key selected accounts (Owners, EPCs, contractors, etc.) operating in the Datacenter Segment through account standardization, project specification, sales development (direct or indirect), and multi-level relationship management to increase Hilti's share of wallet.
- Strategic Development and Implementation: Lead the strategy for assigned Datacenter accounts and drive its implementation through collaboration with Hilti counterparts at regional and global levels. Take ownership of the account project pipeline and proactively build with collaboration with CPM Hilti capture teams to focus on aligned projects and enhance share of wallet.
- Market Intelligence: Provide market intelligence insights to the regional teams to confirm and/or update regional segment strategies.
- Effective Communication: Maintain effective communication throughout the team and company, acting as the owner of assigned accounts.
- Account Development: Identify and develop Datacenter Accounts in collaboration with the sales team, engineering team, Large Project structure and the Regional Segment Manager.
- Account Development Plan (ADP): Define and lead the account development plan (ADP) and strategic approach for Datacenter Segment Focus Accounts, crafting a clear direction and structured account strategy.
- Proactive Account Management: Actively manage BD Datacenter Focus Accounts/Specifiers by initiating, developing, and maintaining long-term relationships with relevant departments within assigned accounts.
- Sales Team Support: Support the sales team in building the opportunity pipeline and defining solutions/services and quotations for customers, engaging in follow-up activities, and facilitating complex negotiations.
- Customer Presentations: Schedule appointments and prepare and deliver presentations to customers, including higher-level stakeholders within those organizations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with other departments (both global and local) on complex opportunities through attending and leading conference calls and meetings.
- Training Coordination: Create and coordinate segment-specific application training for the Sales Team through seminars and product presentations.
- Brand Awareness Initiatives: Define and implement key activities aimed at increasing brand awareness within the Datacenter Segment.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Regional and Global Segment Managers on the development and implementation of related sub-segment strategies.
- Presentation Preparation: Prepare and deliver presentations for Hilti Executive Management Team (EMT) members, both globally and locally.
- Support HQ Functions: Assist headquarters functions with business tracking, market analysis, customer surveys, and the launch or improvement of new products/services.
- Travel Requirements: Responsibilities include traveling abroad when needed.
