Senior Accountant - Purchase to Pay

What's the role?

The P2P team member is responsible for the timely completion of the tasks detailed below and actively supports the P2P Manager to ensure high quality services are offered to the entities serviced by the Shared Service Center.

What You'll do

As a Senior P2P Accountant, you will be responsible for 

Process / Service level management

  • Perform compliant Purchase to Pay processes, using consistent and correct financial bookings in the area of Invoice, Travel & Expense and Vendor Account Management
  • Review & maintain vendor related balance sheet accounts and prepare accurate accruals for vendor invoices & expenses
  • Be a sparring partner for the entity contacts by linking business decisions to Purchase to Pay processes and by delivering and improving agreed Purchase to Pay services to the entities in scope
  • Identify and drive P2P process and service level improvements using continuous improvement (CIP) tools and best suited technologies


Entrepreneurship

  • Consistently challenge the status quo, act as change agent in the Shared Service Centre
  • Recognize and exploit P2P process related opportunities within the Shared Service Centre


Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure compliance with group & indirect tax (VAT) requirements & deadlines
  • Operate Purchase to Pay related ICS (Internal Control System) controls and ensure consistent filing of specified documentation for audit purposes
  • Provide input to requests from internal & external auditors for the Purchase to Pay function
  • Support in the data preparation for Internal Control assessment cycles as required by the P2P Team Leader


Beyond operational duties

  • Responsibility for refreshing monthly KPI reporting as required by the P2P Team Leader and identify/drive areas for improvement
  • Responsibility for Travel & Expense tool administration and reporting as required by the P2P Team Leader
  • Support Team Leader in the onboarding & training of P2P accountants/peers & employees in the entities in scope to drive operational excellence & compliance


Project Management

  • Support Regional Process Experts in Global project roll outs

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Business, Finance or similar or equivalent finance qualification
  • Proven minimum 3 years experience in a Finance function, preferably within a shared service centre environment
  • Functional expertise and ERP system & tools knowledge to operate finance processes incl. month end closing (MEC) and year end closing (YEC) tasks
  • Evidence of acting as business partner through influencing finance & non-finance stakeholders and successfully communicate with them
  • English written & verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in SAP S/4
  • Expertise in MS office suite
