Regional Engineering Marketing Manager - North Asia

What's the role?

The successful candidate is a strategic and driven leader to champion our specification business for the Fastening & Protection (F&P) portfolio. This role blends engineering expertise with commercial strategy, offering a unique opportunity to influence code development, engage specifiers, and drive business performance across five markets in North Asia namely China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea .

What does the role involve?

Code & Approval (C&A) Strategy

  • Lead the development and revision of engineering codes across North Asia, identifying gaps and harmonizing standards to unlock business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, marketing, solution managers) and external stakeholders (test engineers, professors, approval bodies) to expand Hilti’s influence in the C&A landscape.
  • Define and implement local code development strategies aligned with market needs and business unit roadmaps.
  • Steer code revision initiatives and ensure successful execution across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
  • Promote technical differentiation of Hilti solutions through code revision content and strategic messaging.
Engineering Marketing & Specifier Engagement
  • Develop and execute a regional engineering marketing roadmap in collaboration with global and local teams.
  • Create compelling technical content (e.g., webinars, white papers, articles) to engage specifiers and engineers.
  • Deploy content through appropriate channels and campaigns to build awareness and drive engagement.
  • Build and nurture a strong engineering community by driving competence and confidence through training, field engagement, and digital platforms and be the subject matter expert to uplift engineering team capability.
  • Understand customer applications, competitive landscape, and Hilti’s unique value proposition in the Fastening &Protection space.
Commercial Strategy & Business Steering
  • Define go-to-market approaches for the specification business and steer sales performance across the region.
  • Use data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions and ensure alignment with broader business goals.
  • Connect the dots between codes & approvals, marketing, software, and engineering to deliver integrated solutions.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering or related discipline. Highly preferred to possess Master’s degree or MBA from reputable institute.
  • Around 6 years of experience in working with engineering consultants or design institutes in construction industry and understanding the role of specifiers and engineers in the construction workflow, from initial design to final maintenance associated with Hilti fastening and protection portfolio.
  • Sound understanding of construction market including market landscape, competition, code and approval development and revision as well as specification processes in construction projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability in handling both strategic and operational tasks by rolling up the sleeves and pro-actively involve in actions/activities.
  • Strong business orientation by best leveraging one’s engineering background with strong commercial mindset and business ownership to drive sustainable value creation through codes & approval and engineering marketing initiatives.
  • Analytical skills to understand and analyze commercial data, financial data, and application data to drive fact-based decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and capable in collaborating and influencing stakeholders at country, region and global level with senior management that articulate own opinions, ideas, and codes & approval concepts to relevant stakeholders in a simple and comprehensible way.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English and business level proficiency in one of the North Asia languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean).
  • Aspire in developing a long-term career in the company and preferably with the flexibility to relocate to other locations for future career advancement.
