What's the role

The Business Developer is a technical sales role, forming part of the global Hilti Business Development community. You will create a strategy and lead its execution to increase adoption of Hilti solutions. You will play an important role, coordinating with local and global teams associated with these accounts. As a Business Developer you will proactively develop business opportunities through a selected portfolio of accounts and project involved in Natural Resources industry. Your main focus will be on Owners, EPC and Consultant accounts operating in the segment. Your aim will be to develop and grow your business by providing state of the art technical service, engineering consultancy and multi stakeholder technical solutions.

What does the role involve?

In the role you will be responsible and accountable for:

  • Development of Owner, EPC and Consultant accounts operating in the segment through account standardization, project specifications and solutions, sales development (direct or indirect) and multi-level relationship management.
  • Developing the strategy of the assigned accounts and segment game plans. Leading your strategy upfront with internal stakeholders such as local direct sales teams and global segment experts.
  • Building and having ownership of segment project pipeline identifying largest business opportunities for Hilti in selected projects.
  • Together with local sales teams, creating and implementing the strategy for most important brownfield sites for ongoing maintenance and upgrade projects.
  • Proactively build-up and participate project and account capture teams to drive the aligned focus solutions, increase share of wallet and ensuring projects are executed as planned from design to construction.
  • Bringing market intelligence inputs to the teams to confirm and/or update segment strategies.
  • Maintaining effective communication throughout the team and the company
  • Act as owner of assigned accounts.
  • Drive and will to interact and meet with customers in person - finding solutions together
  • Flexibility to travel within Sweden – Mining sites and related facilities located up north whereas petrochemical sites and offices in south.

Responsibilities includes travelling abroad when needed and you will spend about 50% of your time travelling. The position is preferably located in Stockholm, but other locations could be discussed.

What you need is:

  • Previous experience with working on Industríal Construction projects and ideally MSc/BSc degree in commercial, mechanical or civil engineering.
  • Business development/sales experience for engineered products or sales of technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and creation of trust through active listening.
  • Working in matrix organization - influencing via leadership, not via authority.
  • Long-term strategic thinking with capability of explaining and transmitting the targets & strategy to customers, peers and management. Ability to plan a week, a month, a year in accordance with the strategy.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders around the strategy while understanding external stakeholders’ pain points and trends to adjust when needed.
  • Ability to work self-driven and autonomously by creating own planning and tasks to reach the targets.
  • Skill of identifying, understanding and delivering sharp, high-level system selling value proposition and readiness to go into the details.
  • Senior relationship management: Capable and confident while speaking to senior and C-level customers.
  • Project management capabilities: Manage complexity of system selling across multiple geographies, functions and customers.
  • Networking skills (internal and external) with confidence while working within a matrix
