Business Developer, Offshore MRO

What's the Role?

The role of a Business Developer MRO is to proactively develop the business opportunities and forge long term relationships with the top Owners and Operators, Engineering and Design companies, and Offshore contractors related to the maintenance and operations of Offshore Oil & Gas assets. The purpose of the role is to develop global accounts and be accountable for specification and sales development. The role involves examining economic and market trends and conditions that affect the company and develop strategies to take full advantage of any changing circumstances. The job holder needs to develop senior relationship contacts within the customer’s organization to drive the execution of the account’s strategy.
Scope: Contributes to sales development by working with local accounts that are relevant to an MO; influences sales volume of 1-3m CHF annually.

What does the role involve?

•Able to interpret standard offshore construction drawings etc Shop drawings, AFC, IFC, As built drawings to seek out required information
•Familiar with offshore and maritime design codes and approving bodies DNV, ABS, Lloyds, Bureau Veritas
•Familiar with Risk Assessment and HAZID dealing with dissimilar steel structures/hot work in corrosive and fire hazard environment
•Familiar with Risk Based Inspection (RBI) method to build future Hilti specification in Offshore MRO base business via Offshore Site reports
•Aware of common issues faced by clients in offshore during OPEX phase that contribute to Failure modes of our system and tackle them proactively
•Able to frame discussions with client to convince the true benefits adopting HILTI system throughout entire life cycle of the asset
•Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, Excel
•Opportunity generation – Able to generate new leads and opportunities from every level of offshore MRO EPC ecosystem and convert in tangible NS
•Pipeline management – Work upfront with Owners, consultants EPC Contract holders to produce MRO+ opportunities for the next 12-24 months
•Market Intelligence – Able to seek first-hand knowledge regarding competitions and regulatory developments and come up strategies to defend/grow Hilti market position
•Contract management – Understand how different type of MRO contracts work etc MCM, IHUC and work to build Hilti specifications in them
•Come up with effective Bidding proposals depending on the nature of contract pricing whether its Cost Plus Reimbursement, Unit Rates or Lump Sum
•Identify customers pain points and find ways to resolve them with the ultimate aim of Partnership instead of selling

What you need is:

•Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Economics (must), MBA or post-graduate degree is a plus
•At least 5 years prior experience in direct technical business selling preferably in the offshore oil and gas industry
•Able to carry themselves professionally to build relationships at different levels – C-suite and operations level executives, as well as with internal stakeholders
•Must be comfortable travelling domestically and Offshore for work
•Must be passionate and able to demonstrate high interest building a career in Offshore construction industry
•Demonstrated strong sense of achievement in their line of work
•Has a basic understanding and skills to interpret financial statements
•Comfortable working independently and proactive in reaching out when in need of support
•Experience working at the following or similar companies considered a plus: Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Emerson, Rockwell, ABB, Petronas
