IT Business Analyst for Cloud (License Management)

We are FIQ (Subscription & Development Platform IT), the team within Hilti Global IT that builds and maintains Hilti's global cloud platforms and subscription services, enabling secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery for digital products, services, and AI-driven innovation. We follow modern Platform Engineering and DevSecOps principles and embrace Hilti's culture of continuous learning, ownership, and collaboration. As an international, multidisciplinary team, we develop enterprise-scale microservices, APIs, cloud services, and integrations that support millions of users across Hilti's digital ecosystem.

What You'll do

As an IT Business Analyst – Cloud Solutions, you act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are translated into scalable cloud-based solutions. You work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements, optimize processes, and support the successful delivery of cloud-native products and services.

You develop a strong understanding of business processes, system landscapes, microservices architecture, API integrations, and cloud technologies to drive business value and support strategic initiatives.

What you'll do:
Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with stakeholders.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
• Create business process flows, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure requirements are clear, testable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Support solution design and validate proposed solutions against business needs.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and development teams in an Agile environment.
• Manage and refine product backlogs, epics, features, and user stories.
• Participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support prioritization based on business value, technical dependencies, and strategic goals.
• Assist in release planning and go-live preparation.

• Gather and document requirements for cloud-native applications and platform services.
• Analyze and define integration requirements between cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and third-party solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on API-based and microservice-based solutions.
• Support the design and documentation of REST APIs, event-driven integrations, and system interactions.
• Understand technical dependencies, data flows, and integration patterns.

• Serve as the primary contact for business stakeholders regarding requirements and solution clarification.
• Facilitate alignment between business and technical teams.
• Present findings, recommendations, and solution concepts to stakeholders across organizational levels.
• Manage requirement changes and ensure transparency throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support decision-making through data analysis and business impact assessments.

• Define acceptance criteria and support test strategy activities.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Validate delivered functionality against business requirements.
• Support defect triage and resolution efforts.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations and quality standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, products, and customer experiences.
• Promote best practices in requirements engineering and Agile delivery.
• Support digital transformation initiatives and cloud adoption programs.
• Leverage metrics, stakeholder feedback, and retrospectives to continuously improve outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

Must-have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience within Platform Engineering or DevSecOps environments.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and requirements management.
• Strong skills in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
• Experience with cloud-native solutions, microservices, REST APIs, and system integrations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional international teams.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to bridge business needs and technical solutions.
• Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering business value.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and integration platforms.
• Experience with ServiceNow and IT service management processes.
• Knowledge of subscription-based business models, licensing, or billing systems.
• Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Knowledge of security concepts (OAuth2, JWT, IAM).
