Intern – Material Science and Corrosion protection in Corporate Research & Technology (m/f/x)

What's the role?

Corporate Research & Technology is developing new technologies and provides scientific services for Hilti’s business units. Your role is to actively participate in the development and testing of novel materials and coatings for our wide product range. It will be an interesting interdisciplinary technology task with focus on hands-on mentality and the spirit to think outside the box.

Start date is May 2025 or later, duration of the internship: 3-12 months.

What does the role involve?


Supporting our team of experts, you will plan, perform material characterization and modern corrosion tests for fastening and installation systems. Effective technical communication as well as the comprehensible documentation of your work in English is a key factor in your job. You will gain experience in working with state-of-the-art lab and analytical equipment and broadening your skills by combining your theoretical knowledge with industrial applications.

We are looking for a self-responsible intern who takes his/her share of responsibility and enjoys working in an international team.

We invest more than 5% of our turnover every year in exploring new solutions in diamond systems, measuring tools, firestops, anchors and other fastening systems.

What you need is:

  • Enrollment for the whole internship period in a Bachelor/Master’s program in material science, chemistry or similar
  • You are interested or you have experience in working in a laboratory environment
  • You are open for new ideas and you want to work in an international team
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality
