What's the role?
You apply your skills and knowledge in performing tests, characterizing wear, friction and tribological phenomena of high-end lubricants to be used in our products. Your contribution will consolidate the Hilti lubrication portfolio and helps to identify innovative and sustainable lubrication concepts for power tools. You will have insights to latest developments of specialty lubricants.
Start date of August 2024, minimum duration of 6 months

What does the role involve?
You will support our tribology team in evaluating sustainable lubricants for Hilti power tools. A profound theoretical breakdown of state of the art solutions will provide you a solid basis for your friction and wear tests in a modern equipped lab. You are in charge of performing tribological tests, analyzing and interpreting of the acquired data and making suggestions on alternative approaches or improvements. Depending on the progress of your work you will be able to conduct tool tests in our fully instrumented drilling or sawing test rigs. Your results must be documented in form of technical reports. You will have the opportunity to present your findings in our project team meetings.

What you need is:
• Enrollment in a Bachelor's/Master's program in mechanical engineering, material science, or similar for the entire internship period
• You have a strong affinity to tribology
• First lab experience is a must
• You have the ability to work self-reliantly and systematically
• You enjoy hands on work
