Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and contribute to a project with real business impact?
As an Intern Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a key role in industrializing an innovative manufacturing concept originating from a successful Master's thesis. Initial results indicate significant potential to reduce manufacturing costs while simultaneously delivering a substantial improvement in welding quality.
This is not a typical internship focused on supporting day-to-day operations. You will work within a small team and contribute directly to the transformation of a promising concept into a robust production-ready process.
Depending on your capabilities and performance, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of major work packages and drive parts of the (or the complete) project independently.
This full-time position latest start is March 2027
What You'll do
As part of a small manufacturing engineering team, you will help transform an innovative welding concept into a production-ready manufacturing process. Working directly with experienced manufacturing and welding experts, you will take ownership of meaningful technical challenges and contribute to a project with measurable business impact.
· Drive the industrialization of an innovative welding concept from proof-of-concept to production implementation.
· Plan, execute, and evaluate manufacturing trials to validate process performance.
· Analyze process data and identify opportunities for quality, productivity, and cost improvements.
· Collaborate closely with production teams, equipment suppliers, and subject matter experts.
· Support machine modifications, process validation, and process optimization activities.
· Prepare technical documentation and present results to key stakeholders.
· Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and technical decision-making while independently driving assigned work packages.
What You’ll Bring
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
· Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret manufacturing and quality data.
· Hands-on engineering mindset and genuine interest in manufacturing technologies, automation, and industrialization.
· Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive technical topics to completion.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English language proficiency (German is a plus)
