Our battery research team is searching for motivated students from electrical, mechanical or mechatronics engineering fields who want to enable stronger, safer and longer lasting power tool batteries for tomorrow by developing tailored operation strategies.

What does the role involve?

As intern you’ll be part of our interdisciplinary battery team, working on the latest lithium-ion battery technology. You’ll work closely with our experts focusing on battery research and development. Your key responsibilities involve different tasks within the following topics: C code generation and adaptation from Simulink model, embedded testing,
execution of electrical measurements and development of advanced measurement methods, electrochemical characterization, diligent data analysis, interpretation and reporting.

Kaufering is the second largest Hilti site in the world after the corporate headquarters in Schaan. Kaufering is located in the triangle Augsburg - Munich - Allgäu and offers an ideal traffic connection as well as numerous local recreation possibilities.

What you need is:


  • You are a team player and interested in shaping new technologies.
  • Master student in electrical engineering, mathematics. computer science, mechanical engineering, or comparable fields
  • Practical experience in laboratory environments
  • Experience in programming with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Programming skills (C, C++)
  • First experience in the area of software development and testing of embedded systems
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Enthusiasm of being part of an international team
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and/or German
  • Knowledge in the field of Lithium-ion batteries (preferable but not mandatory)
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality
  • Eagerness for both hands-on work and data analytics
