Production Specialist

Keep Production Moving. Solve What Matters.

The Production Support Specialist provides technical and operational support to the second-shift production team by troubleshooting production, process, quality, and system issues. The role serves as an escalation point, promotes effective communication between shifts, and helps maintain operational continuity.

What You'll do

  • Facilitate collaboration, troubleshooting, and discussion within the second-shift production team on technical scheduling, production, quality, and system-related issues.
  • Serve as the first level of escalation for issues that cannot be resolved by production leadership.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and use established Lean methods, including Continuous Improvement Process and A3, to resolve them; collect process data, conduct root cause analysis, report data trends, and recommend solutions.
  • Use an understanding of prefabrication process flow to optimize local Production Engineering processes through small and medium adjustments.
  • Analyze multiple scenarios to develop alternative solutions and backup plans, enabling resilient project execution under guided direction.
  • Structure assigned projects into well-defined tasks with clear instructions and deliverables; create project plans with accurately estimated timelines and resources.
  • Connect and collaborate within the Product Modification team and with Large Project Execution groups, including Project Execution Management, Fulfilment Managers, Engineers, and Computer-Aided Design modelers.
  • Build effective partnerships within the Product Modification team and with Large Project Execution stakeholders to support achievement of project objectives.
  • Communicate insights through well-structured presentations tailored to peers and managers, incorporating guidance to ensure shared understanding.
  • Foster innovation and drive change by proactively identifying improvement opportunities and promoting a culture of accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension), and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and remain authorized for the duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, quality, or systems engineering preferred.
  • Three years of relevant experience in industrial or production engineering required; experience in a plant environment preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of design engineering, including technical drawing interpretation, Quality Management Systems, plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing planning concepts, configuration management, and Engineering and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and in Enterprise Resource Planning/Material Requirements Planning systems; SAP PP, QM, and MES modules preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a track record of driving process improvement initiatives, such as Lean tools, continuous improvement projects, and Kaizen, with measurable outcomes preferred.
