What's the role?
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Process Expert is responsible for providing specialized support in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE processes across Hilti’s U.S. and Canadian operations. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulations, drives operational excellence, and supports the organization’s commitment to a safe and sustainable workplace.

What does the role involve?
- Lead the design and optimization of HSE processes, systems, and workflows to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Partner with HSE leadership and cross-functional teams to implement safety programs, environmental initiatives, and health protocols.
- Maintain and improve documentation and reporting systems (e.g., incident tracking, audits, corrective actions).
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting for both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
- Develop and deliver training materials and communications to promote HSE awareness and compliance.
- Collaborate with site teams to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics and prepare Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for leadership.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response planning across sites.
- Stay current with HSE regulations – Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), provincial standards, and recommend updates to policies and procedures.

What you need is:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in process improvement, operations, or compliance-related roles, required.
- Familiarity with HSE principles, standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSHA, WHMIS, EPA), preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and efficiency.
- Experience with process mapping, documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Up to 30% domestic and/or international travel, required.
