Firestop Technical Engineer

What's the role?

As a Firestop Technical Engineer, you will be supporting internal and external customers with passive fire protection queries, specifications, and drawings. Working on detailed technical designs for passive fire protection systems.

What does the role involve?

  • Working on technical enquires for internal and external stakeholders. This involves designing and specifying firestop products, creating technical drawings, and advising on installation and performance of the passive fire protection systems.
  • Working on detailing standard applications - internal projects.
  • Creating bespoke, customer tailored packages to meet project requirements.
  • Analysing technical specifications / drawings / plans to advice product selection while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaborating with FP related teams to address any technical queries, providing solutions/ product specifications.
  • Working with and supporting Firestop Team and related activities.
  • Use internal reporting system to archive queries, advise given and ensure thread of information.
  • Upkeep CPD records, ensuring that an up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations is maintained.

What you need is:

  • Degree in engineering, preferably in Structural/Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstratable experience in Passive Fire Protection / Firestopping.
  • Excellent AutoCAD experience.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry within a design office or onsite environment.
  • Strong ability to network and develop business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.
