What's the role?
This position is within the Corporate Research Department, part of the Computer Vision and AI team. You will work with deep learning algorithms for image and point cloud segmentation and analysis, gaining hands-on experience with laser scanners and prototypes to collect real-world data as a foundation for your research.
The start date is flexible according to the student's availability, with a minimum duration of 6 months.

What does the role involve?
In this role, you will work with 360-degree videos and LiDAR point clouds captured from construction sites, with regular visits to sites to gather additional data. You will leverage foundational models, such as SAM, to segment and classify images and point clouds. You'll be part of a team advancing state-of-the-art methods for understanding construction progress and laying the groundwork for downstream algorithms, including LLMs and RAG systems, to access and utilize the data. Additionally, you'll gain experience with algorithms for 3D reconstruction and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). What you need is:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s / Master’s program in Computer Science / AI or similar for the entire internship period
- Proficient in Python (C++ optional)
- Familiarity with at least one machine learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensor Flow, …)
- Hands-on experience with image and point cloud processing (Open3D, PCL, …) is a plus
- Fluency in spoken and written English
