ECC Technical Engineer (Engineering Competence Center)

What's the role

The ECC Technical Engineer has the responsibility of providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to Hilti products, software and services with a view to drive sales and develop customer relationship. This is done through the analysis of the applications, by designing the most productive solutions and generating specifications and leads to the internal and external stakeholders.

The main interactions of the ECC Technical Engineer are with engineers from external engineering offices, project managers and our internal Sales and Engineering colleagues.

What does the role involve?

The Technical Engineer is responsible for:

  • Managing the ECC mailbox, prioritizing the requests and assuring pro-active communication to ensure a timely answer to all inquiries and setting the right expectations to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Contacting the stakeholders in order to produce designs & calculations for Hilti’s fastening, rebar, firestop and installation solutions in accordance to EC2, EC2-4 or local norms and guidelines. These designs should be the most productive and code-conform solutions. For these calculations the ECC Engineer will mainly work with Hilti Software suits (PROFIS) that are specifically designed for such requests.
  • Guiding the customers on the potential solutions and supporting the right decision making by providing details on the products, the practicality and boundary conditions on the solutions provided.
  • Reporting all inbound and outbound activities, keeping track of specifications and generating leads and opportunities for our Sales and Engineering teams through the use of Salesforce.
  • Providing technical advice to customers on engineering topics, consistent with the company's objectives and technical marketing strategy.
  • Managing Hilti’s Engineering platform AskHilti by creating original content, coordinating and organizing live webinars on engineering topics on a monthly basis as well as monitoring its forum and publishing engineering related articles.

What you need is:

Hilti is looking for a proactive team player who has the ability to accurately work in a f ast-changing environment in a challenging market. You are a keen listener and quick on your feet with follow up questions. Next to the above you have:

  • Bachelor or master’s in engineering (or at least 3 years of equal experiences)
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a proficient level in English (tri-lingual is a plus)
  • Able to work effectively and independently from home office and able to join the team in Anderlecht min. 3 days/week
  • Able to design 2D drawings in Autocad and Navisworks
  • Dynamic and solution-minded team player that is open to learn new applications and solutions to develop him/herself
  • Experience in a sales-oriented positions is a plus
