What's the role?

As an interdisciplinary and international battery research team at Hilti, we offer you a varied internship in the field of high-power batteries with a special focus on battery test development and test execution. We are looking for a motivated Master´s student with an engineering/science background who wishes to learn more about lithium-ion batteries by joining us in performing tests, analysing test data and developing advanced test methods for the evaluation of high-performance batteries for power tools.

What does the role involve?

  • As part of your job, you will support us in developing advanced test methods for our lithium-ion batteries

  • Your area of responsibility includes the independent preparation and execution of electrochemical battery tests as well as the subsequent evaluation and interpretation of the results, ensuring timely results of high quality for our research projects

  • You actively contribute your own ideas to optimize practical laboratory workflows and data evaluation processes, driving continuous improvement and innovation

  • You will be involved in day-to-day operations and project-related work

  • The opportunity to visit our Innovation Center in Schaan (Liechtenstein)

Kaufering is located in the triangle Augsburg - Munich - Allgäu and offers an ideal traffic connection as well as numerous local recreation possibilities.

What you need is:

  • Team player with strong collaboration skills
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of (lithium-ion) battery technology
  • Initial laboratory experience in battery testing (preferred, but not required)
  • Basic programming experience with MATLAB
  • Fluent in English
  • Enjoys working in an international team environment
  • Eager to contribute original ideas
  • Practical, hands-on working skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for personal and professional development
