Finance Process Expert

What's the role?

We’re looking for a Finance Process Expert to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for providing accounting services, for ensuring internal control system, financial reporting, training, and providing advice and administrative support to relevant stakeholders within an organization.

What does the role involve?

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all financial bookings are consistent, accurate, and finalized in time according to group guidelines. The role involves advising and training the business partners on accounting guidelines and new regulations e.g. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role will have opportunity to coordinate and test ERP system and tool related changes and upgrades

The key tasks include:

  • Perform/supervise compliant General ledger processes and consistent and correct financial bookings in month end closing / year end closing (MEC/YEC)
  • Manage GL Master data, Intercompany, Accounts payable, independently or by providing support to Shared Service Center (SSC)
  • Ensure compliance with Group, legal and tax requirements & deadlines
  • Perform tasks related to Hilti’s Internal Control System (ICS)
  • Assist with annual internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, and meeting with auditors, as needed
  • Coordinate and test ERP system and tool related changes and upgrades
  • Be up to date with all relevant regulations, requirements, and laws
  • Manage office equipment and fixed assets
  • Manage indirect procurement activities, with a specific focus on Facilities Management categories, such as maintenance, cleaning and office services
  • Perform finance administrative activities such as contract management (Ariba), filling/archiving documents and admin files, Travel & Expense management (Concur)
  • Consistently challenge the status quo, act as change agent in the Shared Service Center
  • Be a sparring partner for SSC employees by linking business decisions to accounting processes and by supporting in improving agreed services to the entities in scope
  • Support Team Leader in the onboarding & training of other team members in the entities in scope to drive operational excellence & compliance
  • Influence finance & non-finance stakeholders and successfully communicate with them

What you need is:

  • University degree in the field of finance, accounting and finance business administration, economics or engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and local accounting legislation and standards
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills in local language and English
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders locally and at regional level (should be comfortable to work in a multinational environment)
  • Well organized, with excellent planning skills, yet agile and open minded
  • Ability to work with deadlines, experience in delivery tasks on time and organize autonomously time and agenda
  • Excellent knowledge of Office package (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
