Supply Manager

What's the role?

The Product Supply Manager is responsible for identifying, auditing, selecting, and developing an optimal supplier portfolio for the North American market in alignment with the global Business Unit. The role is responsible to procure products from different suppliers and align the needed product features with the capabilities of the supply network. This includes procuring new developed products, “catalogue” items from different vendors, or procuring services. The Product Supply Manager interacts with an interdisciplinary team (product manager, mechanical developer, quality) to ensure the right quality of development projects and understands how to get things done in time by being highly self-reliant.

What does the role involve?

  • Identify, audit, select, and develop the optimal supplier portfolio
  • Responsible for managing key suppliers to identify and implement cost reductions and safeguard product availability and quality
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary teams for the development of new technologies and products to ensure project cost targets and timing are achieved
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and support the global Supply Manager in preparing supplier contracts
  • Align technical specification and cost target with capabilities of suppliers
  • Additional duties as assigned

What you need is:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in a purchasing department / supply chain management and in international project management
  • Sound understanding of related raw materials and production technologies with link to quality, availability, costs, and productivity
  • Proven ability to think strategically
  • Strong analytical and implementation skills
  • Ambitious and motivated personality with high focus on further personal development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Focus on defining and getting things done
