What does the role involve?
In this role, you will drive sourcing, purchasing, and supply for specific product lines like distance meters and rotating lasers, actively shaping their strategy, development, and profitability. You will also manage specific product commodities and services, such as metal parts, and direct-sale products like accessories. As you take the reins of these responsibilities, you'll also devise category group strategies, foster strong supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and lead supply enhancement projects in collaboration with various internal teams like engineering and manufacturing and external partners.
Your leadership will be instrumental in spearheading initiatives to refine our supply management within the Business Unit using innovative methods, tools, and strategies. A significant part of your role will involve championing cross-functional collaboration to develop category strategies, enhance COGS, and drive successful implementation.
Our Business Unit Measuring is characterized by significant annual growth, complex footprints (e.g. multinational, partnerships with competitors and joint ventures), future technologies (e.g. robotics, software, reality capture) and very complex products with high precision (e.g. laser, optical and fine mechanics as well as electronics technologies). Our suppliers and development partners are global.

What you need is:
- University degree in engineering or a related field.
- Expertise in strategic procurement management, preferably in technical components
- Demonstrated proficiency in strategy creation and execution with diverse stakeholders, even with limited information.
- Experience in leading cost-optimization, cross-functional projects, and fluency in English; German proficiency is a bonus.
- Proactive, open-minded thinker with pragmatic, hands-on skills and excellent communication across organizational levels.
