Engineering Leadership Development Program

We’re looking for the next generation of high-performing, post-graduate technical talents to take our company forward. This is a leadership development programme like no other, with international exposure and real responsibility from day one.

We’re seeking civil, structural, mechanical engineering post graduates or equivalent with strong commercial acumen and an interest in an international career aiming to be a business leader in the future.

You will have the opportunity to work on some biggest construction projects in North Asia whilst at the same time receiving world-class training and development to take your career to the next level. As you perform and develop, we will provide the coaching you need to step into a leadership role within Hilti, whether that’s in your home location in North Asia or internationally.

What does the role involve?

Hilti North Asia Engineering Leadership Development program is a two-year program with lots of exposure to senior management to well equip you in no time to be a leader. It’s fast paced and challenging, but we’ll closely coach and mentor you. The program is split into three main stages of work:

  • 12 months as an account manager or field engineer in home location
  • 6 months on Regional project in home location
  • 6 months on Global project
This program offers you the opportunity to step out from your area of technical expertise and broaden your skillset, with lots of exposure to senior management.

To make you the best leader you can be at Hilti, you need hands-on experience of how we operate, so you’ll spend the first year learning our business from the ground up, either as a direct sales account manager or a field engineer. No two days are the same but you’ll spend most of your time visiting our customers, wherever they’re busy working, to find out how we can help them. You’ll be nurturing relationships with warm and responsive customers and helping them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their needs.

At the same time, you will benefit from close mentoring from a Sales or Marketing Director and will undertake many leadership courses to ensure we are preparing you for the demands of a leadership role and stay connected with your cohort along the way.

Once you land in the business after the initial two years your development accelerates – there are opportunities across engineering management, product development and technical marketing, sales – development through Hilti may offer international relocation if that is of interest. From there, you will follow your interests to build your career across sales, marketing or engineering with Hilti’s focus on development (a career with no limit).

What you need is:

  • Master degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in engineering consulting or management consulting or other areas like product marketing ideally with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial thinking mindset.
  • Aiming to be a future leader to best leverage your engineering expertise with global mindset gained from overseas exposure like study abroad or working experience.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic to drive outstanding business results to help and support Hilti customers to increase their productivity with safety and sustainability at top of mind.
  • Strong influencing capability with the ability persuade and interact with stakeholders at global, regional and country level to pursue the same direction that fully align with Hilti LEAD 2030 business direction.
  • Execute the agreed initiatives and focus areas with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English and one North Asian language.
  • Aspire to develop a long-term career with the company with the flexibility to work in other locations to develop a global career and be a global leader.
