Social Impact Coordinator

What's the role?

The Social Impact Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with a formal and sustainable Hilti North America volunteer program in alignment with HNA's Social Impact strategy, motivating Team Members to give back through volunteerism in their communities and moving Team Members from tourist, one-time volunteer, to journeyperson, volunteering regularly. This role will further elevate the Global Engaged Beyond Business strategy; tracking, motivating, and sharing Team Members' stories of their community involvement through the management of the Engaged Beyond Business (EBB) platform. This role is dedicated to the overarching strategy of the People Engagement Office and will help support the goal of building meaning and purpose for all team members during their entire Hilti life cycle.

What does the role involve?

1. Volunteer Program Management

  • Support a company-wide employee volunteer program, including Hilti Cares Month, service days, team volunteer events, and skills-based opportunities.
  • Support with planning and execution of major social impact events, including scheduling, logistics, transportation, and vendor coordination.
  • Organize and facilitate employee giving campaigns.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics for special social impact efforts not limited to schedules, transportation, location, and catering (fairs, giving days, site visits etc.)
  • Support departments across all functions (field, corporate, distribution, etc.) in organizing volunteer efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage Employee Resource Groups (ERG)/Executive Management Teams (EMT) engagement in community efforts.
  • Oversee nonprofit board seat program placements and engagement.
2. Employee Engagement

  • Promote volunteer opportunities to increase year-over-year participation.
  • Assist with developing resources and tools to empower employee-led volunteer efforts.
  • Support planning and execution of recruitment, training, and management of volunteers across North America.
  • Support an employee volunteer steering committee.
  • Deliver a meaningful programming that educates and motivates employees to give back.
3. Communications & Outreach

  • Serve as a liaison between Hilti and nonprofit/community partners for specific companywide initiatives.
  • Represent Hilti at internal meetings and external events to promote engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal communications, HR, and DEI teams to raise visibility of initiatives.
  • Assist with development and distribution of inspiring communications and storytelling pieces to foster a culture of service.
  • Track and engage top nonprofit partners; attend site visits and impact events.
  • Stay informed on volunteerism trends and nonprofit sector updates in key markets.
4. Measurement & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze volunteer metrics, including hours, participation, and outcomes.
  • Manage reporting for the Engaged Beyond Business (EBB) global platform.
  • Support the creation of monthly and executive-level reports with actionable insights.
  • Support global data needs and ensure alignment with company reporting systems (e.g., Workday).
5. Administrative Operations

  • Support compliance with company and partner guidelines for volunteer activities.
  • Manage logistics, safety requirements, waivers, and supplies for events.
  • Maintain up-to-date volunteer processes, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Support creation and distribution of promotional materials, including volunteer apparel and invoices.
  • Responsible for various administrative duties within Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Social Impact.

What you need is:

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent experience, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, nonprofit management or general business, or another related
  • field, preferred
  • 3 -5 years of experience in project management, account management OR volunteer coordination, employee engagement, community relations, required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong team orientation and curiosity with an ambition to grow and evolve programs to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels of the organization
  • Solutions oriented with ability to appropriately navigate various stakeholders from new team members to the Executive Management Team.
  • Proactive, self-starter and independent worker.
  • Flexible and willing to contribute in a variety of ways
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong motivational skills and ability to rally team members around various social causes.
  • Passion for community engagement, equity, and social responsibility.
  • Operates with a deep sense of empathy and still maintains boundaries and enforces policies.
