What's the role?
You'll be a sustainability champion, consulting Hilti’s Engineering, HSE and Product Management teams worldwide using real data to help make our products better for the environment. This is a hands-on role focused on data transparency: calculating the environmental impact of our products and publishing the industry-standard documents to prove it, such as LCAs and EPDs.
Who is Hilti?
Hilti is where innovation is improving productivity, safety and sustainability in the global construction industry, and beyond. Where strong customer relationships are creating solutions that build a better future. Where there is pride and a sense of belonging across our 120 locations, carrying right into our lives and homes. Where people are exploring possibilities, leveraging their potential, owning their personal development and growing lasting careers.
What does the role involve?
Based in our Operational Excellence Team in Selangor, you’ll use industry-standard software to complete lifecycle assessments for products both early in development and in preparation for launch. This requires routine collaboration with colleagues around the world who design and source our products. Your enthusiasm for sustainability combined with the insights you can provide benefit the entire construction industry: our engineers can make lower-CO₂ products, and our customers can build greener, healthier buildings. The essence of your role is to continuously generate data which gives your colleagues the insights to make better products, and our customers the documentation they need to meet their own sustainability commitments.
We have an excellent mix of people, which we believe makes for a more vibrant, more innovative and more productive team.
What do we offer?
Show us what you’re made of and we’ll offer you opportunities to move around the business – to work abroad, experience different job functions and tackle different markets. It’s a great way to find the right match for your ambitions and achieve the exciting career you’re after.
We have a very thorough people review process, unlike any we know of in any other business. We can pair talent with opportunities - developing our people in their current roles or challenging them to work in new ways or in new places. It’s how we find the right fit, further our teams personally and professionally, get the best value for each employee and increase the job satisfaction. Additionally, we offer you a wide range of benefits.
What you need is:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or materials science, or experience with industrial manufacturing processes.
- Experience using One Click LCA or similar LCA/EPD software is a plus.
- Confident numeracy – to translate real-world scenarios into a lifecycle assessment formula.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills – to educate your colleagues on this complex topic, to support their data gathering efforts, and to explain the conclusions of your assessments.
- Proactive problem solving – to find pragmatic but compliant solutions when input data is unavailable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English – required not just for everyday professional communication, but also authoring customer-facing documents such as EPDs
Why should you apply?
If you are a driven individual who values a job which is fact-based and can have a tangible benefit to the planet we live on, you could be a great match for our sustainability department. You are looking for a company that values versatility and provides opportunities to explore various functions and locations. Your first role with us is just the beginning of a journey and what we hope is a long-lasting career.
