Inventory Controller

What's the role?

The role of Inventory Controller is responsible for monitoring and execution of inventory accuracy as well as creating and implementing training material in relation to Hilti inventory accuracy initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, execution of continuous inventory counting, system adjustments, and maintaining ICS compliance with inventory activity.

What does the role involve?

Manage and control distribution center (DC) inventory through continuous cycle counting, inventory investigation, and reconciliation

  • Drive inventory performance by participation in the training and execution of core warehouse processes; with additional focus of inventory management and improved bin count accuracy
  • Define and implement local operational goals to improve overall DC performance ensuring attainment of service center targets for inventory accuracy, quality, and customer satisfaction at that site
  • Perform ongoing analysis of inventory including, but not limited to:
  • Monitor and investigate inventory adjustments (losses and recovery within the warehouse)
  • Assist in return process and adjusting inventory accordingly
  • Investigate inventory related shipping complaints
  • Systematically maintain warehouse setup
  • Additional duties, as assigned

What you need is:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required
  • Minimum three (3) years’ progressive experience in Inventory control
  • Warehouse or related operational experience, strongly preferred
  • In depth knowledge of SAP; minimum three (3) years preferred
  • Proficiency in Inventory Management and Quality
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others in a teamwork-based environment

Adverse Working Conditions:

  • Erratic temperature control (hot in summer, cold in winter)
  • Workshop environment is subject to hear, cold, noise, dust and other particles
  • Operation of large equipment and machinery (i.e. production machines and forklifts)
Safety Equipment Required:
  • Must observe and abide by any and all safety regulations as required by Hilti and Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Proper labeling and handling of hazardous materials per Hilti and OSHA policy
  • Must wear steel toe boots, safety glasses, safety vest, and other safety equipment as required when working in the warehouse and/or operating machinery
Physical Requirements:
  • Regular heavy lifting of 50 + lbs.
  • Occasional heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. required
  • Warehouse material handling equipment and truck loading / unloading
  • Must be able to tolerate a variable climate, prolonged standing, repetitive bending and reaching, and climbing up and down ladders
