Who is Hilti?
If you’re new to the industry, you might not have heard of us. We provide leading-edge tools, technologies, software and services for the global construction sector. We have a proud heritage, built over 75 years, and a worldwide reputation for pioneering products and exceptional service.
With 30,000 people in more than 120 countries, which we’re looking to expand, we’re a great place for you to show us your worth, step up to new challenges and grow your career.
What does the role involve?
As intern in our department you will be part of the insert tools development team of business unit diamond, the team responsible for core drills, wall saws and cutting, grinding and slitting equipment. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop materials for use in diamond segments, which perform the cutting of materials such as reinforced concrete.
Your key responsibilities will be working self-dependently on subsets of larger development projects that drive the technology for the next generation of materials to be used in diamond saw blades and core bits. The tasks will necessitate collaboration with a number of internal teams including development, research, testing engineering and production. Your work will require a sound knowledge of materials science and mechanical testing as well as some interest in hands-on testing of construction tools and the respective inserts.
INNOVATION - This is the cutting edge of corporate innovation, where the pace is fast, fun, energetic and inspiring. Our team is the proud winner of the Hilti Innovation Prize for a modular design of diamond core bit which has revolutionized diamond drilling, bringing unparalleled flexibility, convenience and problem-solving to drilling a wide range of difficult-to-cut materials.
What do we offer?
You’ll not just be another pair of hands but a fully integrated team member with lots of self-responsibility. From there, we’ll trust you to do whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results. Go the extra mile and we’ll reward you with strategic development discussions and career opportunities.
We’ll support you even before you start with us through relocation and integration support. With the international intern’s community at Hilti you’ll never be bored. Further, the snow-draped mountains, crystal-clear lakes and marvelous landscapes in the Happy Valley invite for lots of outdoor activities.
What you need is:
- To be enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's program in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering subjects
- Good knowledge of the English language. Any other language might be of additional benefit, as you will be working in an international team.
- Interest in hands-on as well as more scientific work
- A proactive approach and self-reliant personality
- A strategic approach and good problem-solving skills
Why should you apply?
We have an excellent mix of people, which we believe makes for a more vibrant, more innovative, more productive team. So, if you have no knowledge of construction, that’s fine with us. We’re more interested in your ability, commitment and drive to succeed.
We take our time to get to know you. As part of your recruitment process, you’ll get to talk to your internship coach as well as your HR Manager who both can answer some of your burning questions.
