Digital Design Intern (Mechanical Structures)

To assist in developing and optimizing digital solutions for mechanical structure design, enhancing design efficiency and accuracy, while strengthening collaboration between design and manufacturing processes.

What does the role involve?

1. Development and Management of Standard Components Database

  • Integrate existing big data resources and utilize professional design software (e.g., UG, PDM) or custom-developed applications to establish an efficient and systematic standard components database.
  • The database should cover standard components such as screws, bearings, and retaining rings, ensuring comprehensive, precise, and user-friendly data.
  • Enable design engineers to quickly search and match components that meet design specifications, significantly improving design efficiency.
2. Analysis and Optimization of Manufacturing Processes
  • Develop or integrate existing market software tools to create an intelligent manufacturing process analysis system based on current 3D design files.
  • Implement automated classification of manufacturing processes, detailed process descriptions, and cost estimation for design proposals.
  • Provide preemptive analysis of design and manufacturing processes, aiding designers in accurate cost and process forecasting, and improving supplier collaboration and overall optimization.

What you need is:

Current undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred. Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., UG, SolidWorks) and PDM systems, with experience in application development or database management, is a plus. Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to dynamic work requirements.
