What's the Role?

The role of a Business Developer Power is to proactively develop the business opportunities and forge long term relationships with the top Owners, Engineering and Design companies as well as Power contractors related to the Power market in Malaysia. The purpose of the role is to develop global accounts and be accountable for specification and sales development. The role involves examining economic and market trends and conditions that affect the company and develop strategies to take full advantage of any changing circumstances.
Scope: Contributes to sales development by working with local accounts that are relevant to influences sales volume Power market in Malaysia.

What does the role involve?

  • Able to interpret standard construction drawings, including As built drawings to seek out required information
  • Aware of common issues faced by customers in Power Market (Owners, Developers, EPCs and Contactors)
  • Able to frame discussions with client to convince the true benefits adopting HILTI system throughout entire life cycle of the asset
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, Excel
  • Opportunity generation – Able to generate new leads and opportunities
  • Pipeline management – Work upfront with Owners, consultants EPC and specifiersto generate short and long term opportunities
  • Market Intelligence – Able to seek first-hand knowledge regarding competitions and regulatory developments and come up strategies to defend/grow Hilti market position
  • Identify customers pain points and find ways to resolve them with the ultimate aim of Partnership instead of selling
  • Familiar with Power Market Landscapes in Malaysia (including the stakeholders in the market)
  • Project management capabilities to manage complexity of system selling across multiple geographies, functions and customers.
  • Networking (internal and external) and understanding internal processes and tools
  • Identify, understand and deliver high level system selling value proposition; sell a solution and a product.
    Senior relationship management skills to be capable and confident while speaking to senior and C-level customers.
  • Able to influence internal and external stakeholders around the strategy while understanding external stakeholders' pain points and trends to adjust it if need be.

What you need is:

•Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical or Civil Engineering, MBA or post-graduate degree is a plus
•At least 6 years prior experience in the Power sector in Malaysia. 
•Able to carry themselves professionally to build relationships at different levels – C-suite and operations level executives, as well as with internal stakeholders
•Must have experience in negotiating/ closing contracts with customers
•Ability to drive top-down decision in large accounts
•Must have led teams
