Intern / Praktikant:in Organizing Innovation

What's the role?

In this role you get the chance to drive innovation for Hilti Ventilated Façade together with an interdisciplinary team from different departments such as research and development, service solutions and production. The internship will allow you to actively contribute to the company’s strategy by development of a conceptual approach to drive innovation and implementing the process from generating first ideas over fast prototyping to offering an innovative solution for our customer.

Start: ideally September 2022
Duration: 6 months

Our site in Lanzenkirchen, based in the south of Vienna, is Hilti´s Competence Center for Ventilated Façade and Installation Systems for Pipe rings and Heavy modular systems. As part of our Business Unit Installation we provide product development, supply, marketing and engineering. Our highly motivated international team works together with colleagues from all over the world in an entrepreneurial environment to bring innovative new products to the market.

What does the role involve?

As intern in our organization, you’ll be part of one of 8 strategic groups and you’ll report to the local management team. The team is working in an agile scrum set up. Your focus tasks will be the development of a concept to drive innovation in our organization. Therefore, different innovation concepts from other industries or academia should be used and adapted to our organization. The process you will start to implement needs to consider all necessary stages of innovation (from generating ideas and prototyping, over validation with customers until starting new projects and launching solutions in the markets). To validate the processes, you will test the different steps directly in our organization.
Working on strategic deployments of innovation as well as facilitating workshops and working in an agile team will allow you to gain a good understanding of our organization and the challenges of innovation.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor's degree and currently studying in a master’s program with an economic or technical background and a focus on innovation.
  • Good IT and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiasm to learn and drive to succeed
  • Strong team skills, interest in working in a multinational team
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in German and English
  • High commitment and self-responsibility
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality

This position is subject to the collective agreement for employees in metal trade, employment group I which states a minimum salary of € 1.574,24 per month – gross (full-time).
