What does the role involve?

  • Lead the development, verification, and qualification of joining processes for battery cells and packs
  • Ensure early-phase process readiness to reduce time-to-market and industrialization risks
  • Investigate and evaluate emerging joining technologies for future battery production
  • Act as process owner and lead technical expert across battery-related projects
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to cross-functional technology and product teams
  • Support industrialization efforts and resolve joining-related production challenges
  • Drive standardization and structured knowledge transfer across teams and projects
  • Organize and manage the operations of the Battery Technical Centre
  • Plan and oversee prototype build-ups for trials, testing, and validation

What you need is:

  • Deep knowledge and practical experience with joining technologies, ideally in battery applications
  • Familiarity with battery manufacturing and prototyping environments
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Material Science, Industrial Engineering or Process Engineering (PhD is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex, multi-project challenges
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams, preferably in R&D or prototyping settings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • A proactive, tech-savvy mindset with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Fluency in English and German (spoken and written)
